A city home gets a new life

*** Costa del Sol renovations, before and after. ***

Hello, Today I am going to show you how we saved an apartment in the city center just a few steps from the beach.

Three years ago I saw an apartment for sale with these fotos on the internet:

After seeing the last photo I realized the location and thought that  I need to get that apartment.  We visited the apartment right away and the condition was a lot worse than how it looked like in the photos. AWESOME!! We made an offer right away, the vendor accepted it and we signed the deal!

We asked that the vendor would empty the apartment before he gives the keys to us and this is how the apartment was when we entered after the signing:

Notice the hol on the wall on the left side of the door. The last tenants did obviously not know how to use a door…

It was so great that the vendor took all the kitchen appliances and basically everything he could! It was a relief to us for not needing to tear those things off and pay for the garbage fees.

Absolutely everything in the apartment was either destroyed or just broken.

I have no idea why did they have those cleaning equipment in the apartment since obviously they never used those. Ever.

This is how we started and it looked better right away!

Unfortunately we don’t have any more photos of diferent stages of the renovation because of a nasty camera thief. But we completed the renovation to the point where everything was installed, including the white goods in the kitchen, etc. So the apartment was ready to be furnished and we were just about to start furnishing it when one of our clients accidentally visited the apartment with us. And she bought it. Just like that. And she wanted to furnish it herself since she already had her own beautiful furnitures. So our job with this project was suddenly ready and we didn’t get to furnish this one.

Let’s hop on to the situation where the new owner of the apartment has furnished it for herself. I think she made a wonderful job!!! My style would have been very different, but I absolutely love this style as well. It is great to see how the apartment we renovated gave a possibility to create a whole different kind of home with this kind of a decoration than what we had in mind while renovating it.

We opened the kitchen as part of the living room to get the living are more spacious and to get more light into the kitchen.

The 3D tiles in the kitchen backsplash are so nice. The tiles with the pattern are chubby and the white ones are flat. I remember how the buyer was petting the tiles (as if those were kittens) because she obviously fell in love with them at first sight. Maybe these tiles were The Cherry on top that made her to decide to buy the apartment… Sometimes a small detail might have a crucial role in these things.

In the bathroom we wanted to leave the corner open and we ordered made-to-measure glass shelves there. Notice that a white tab is very practical in a place like this where the water has a lot of calcium in it.

The concrete columns and beams are real structures of this 11 storey block building. In the renovations it is obviously not allowed to modify the columns and beams but you can always highlight the things that you can not remove. So we decided to remove all the old paint and filler and put a varnish on the concrete so that the dust does not come out.

The location of this apartment is amazing and from the terrace you can see over the church square and to the Mediterranean Sea. All the restaurants and nice boutiques and cafés are just on the doorstep. This is just a Perfect City Home! On the terrace we installed glass curtains so it is possible either close the terrrace or open it entirely.

Do you like it?

I love it!
